Area Director – Residential ServicesBoone Supported Living is seeking an experienced, dependable leader to serve as an Area Director overseeing residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.The Area Director provides leadership and operational oversight for multiple residential programs. This position directly supervises Professional Managers and House Managers, supports the performance of their teams, and ensures that each program consistently meets the needs of the individuals we serve. and Staff ManagementDirectly supervise approximately 6–10 Professional Managers and House Managers and provide oversight of their residential teams.Establish clear expectations, monitor performance, and ensure managers complete assigned responsibilities accurately and on time.Coach and develop managers through regular meetings, performance feedback, problem-solving, and corrective action when necessary.Promote professional communication, teamwork, accountability, and consistency across assigned programs.Ensure managers and direct-care employees receive the training, resources, and support needed to perform their roles successfully.Review staffing needs and collaborate with Recruiting, Scheduling, Training, and Human Resources to address vacancies, coverage concerns, and employee performance issues.Program and Operational OversightOversee the daily operation of multiple residential programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Ensure services comply with Missouri Department of Mental Health requirements, Medicaid waiver standards, agency policies, individual support plans, and applicable state and federal regulations.Maintain consistent oversight of documentation, staffing, employee training, household operations, and service delivery.Ensure assigned homes remain safe, organized, adequately staffed, and inspection-ready.Monitor key program indicators, identify areas of concern, and develop practical corrective-action plans.Complete and submit monthly reports and other required documentation accurately and by established deadlines.Coordinate with administrative departments to ensure individuals' medical, behavioral, financial, transportation, and other support needs are appropriately addressed and documented.Quality Assurance and Individual SupportMonitor the quality and consistency of services provided across assigned programs.Review incident reports, service-monitoring reports, performance data, medication concerns, and other quality indicators.Assist managers with preparing for monthly reviews, inspections, audits, and other monitoring activities.Ensure identified concerns are corrected promptly and thoroughly.Promote person-centered services that protect individual rights, encourage independence, and reflect each person's goals and preferences.Build productive relationships with individuals receiving services, guardians, families, support coordinators, healthcare providers, and other members of the support team.Crisis Management and ComplianceProvide leadership during medical, behavioral, staffing, and operational emergencies.Coordinate appropriate responses to EMTs, APTs, inquiries, investigations, abuse and neglect allegations, and other significant events.Ensure incidents are reported, documented, investigated, and addressed according to required timelines and procedures.Exercise sound judgment and communicate promptly with executive leadership and other appropriate parties.Participate in an administrative on-call rotation and provide after-hours guidance as assigned.Admissions, Transitions, and DischargesFacilitate the intake, transition, and discharge processes for individuals entering, transferring between, or leaving services.Coordinate with internal departments and external support teams to ensure transitions are properly planned and documented.Help evaluate whether prospective placements can be supported safely and successfully.Ensure homes, staffing plans, documentation, and required resources are prepared before services experience at the Professional Manager, QDDP, Program Director, Area Director, or comparable level.At least 10 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within Missouri DMH-waivered services or a closely related residential-services environment.Demonstrated experience supervising managers and overseeing multiple residential programs or worksites.Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, incident reporting, employee performance management, and person-centered services.Ability to organize complex responsibilities, establish priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.Ability to respond professionally and effectively during emergencies and high-pressure situations.Proficiency with electronic documentation, email, reporting systems, and standard workplace technology.Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.Certification RequirementsThe Area Director must obtain and maintain all certifications required by Boone Supported Living and applicable regulations, including:First Aid and CPRAbuse and Neglect trainingLevel 1 Medication Aide certificationBloodborne Pathogens trainingPositive Behavior Supports trainingHIPAA trainingAny additional training or certification required by the Missouri Department of Mental Health or Boone Supported LivingWork RequirementsAbility to travel regularly between assigned residential programs and administrative locations.Availability to respond to urgent operational needs outside standard business hours.Participation in an administrative on-call rotation.Ability to attend meetings, inspections, investigations, and support-team activities as
