Position Summary

The Area HR Manager serves as a strategic HR partner supporting multiple locations and business units within a designated region. This role provides guidance on employee relations, compliance, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness while partnering with leadership to drive business objectives and foster a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR Managers and Generalists.
  • Partner with business leaders to align HR strategies with operational goals.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions for employee issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Review and advise on disciplinary actions, terminations, reductions in force, and other employment decisions.
  • Analyze workforce trends and metrics to improve engagement, retention, and business performance.
  • Support labor relations activities, including contract interpretation, grievance resolution, and collective bargaining as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and shared services teams to deliver effective HR programs and solutions.
  • Participate in special projects, training initiatives, and organizational change efforts.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic HR Business Partner or HR Management role.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including investigations and policy interpretation.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or business units in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with both non-union and unionized workforces preferred.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to travel to, support, and manage various sites
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
