    Description

    We are looking for an Area Manager to join our Chino, CA team. In this role, youll work to ensure product flows through our Distribution Center in a timely manner and that safety and productivity goals are met.     Location: 15245 Van Vliet Ave, Chino CA 91710

    Work Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday-Friday)

    What We Do - Accountabilities

    • Ensures proper staffing levels within department while prioritizing labor to essential functions
    • Deliver daily, weekly, monthly departmental goals
    • Ensures productivity goals and KPI's are met on a daily basis
    • Ensures Quality standards are achieved maintaining a high level of customer service
    • Holds team accountable
    • Ensures workforce engagement in core company values and through the effective execution of HR, LP and Safety policy and programs

    Essential Functions

    • Accountable for the operational management of a specific functional area/areas
    • This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the Shipping and Receiving Department; however, depending on business needs, the role may also involve supporting other daily operations
    • Functional expert across each area of responsibility ensuring that all processes are executed efficiently and correctly.
    • Partner with peers and Operations Manager to adjust workflow and labor to best support the operation.
    • Provide leadership, training, development and mentorship for Supervisors and Clerks.
    • Implement succession planning for team.
    • Lead change management and continuous process improvement efforts for team with a strong focus on best practices.
    • Actively embraces continuous improvement through improvement of self as much as improvement of team, processes and environment.
    • Create a culture of ownership and participation fostering a positive work environment.
    • Subject matter expert across area(s) of responsibility, with the ability to execute all area functions and resolve exceptions
    • Engage area teams to educate and drive daily results, set by Operations Manager, in a positive and safe manner.
    • Ensures company policies are communicated, understood, and administered.
    • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy work environment, able to show year-on-year improvements in accident and injury statistics by leading and administering all safety initiatives.
    • Maintains necessary equipment and tools for the operation to succeed.

    Preferred Qualifications & Education

    • Distribution Center Experience 5+ years preferred
    • Must have experience and be able to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT)
    • Demonstrated experience in structured continuous improvement efforts
    • 5+ years leadership experience in roles of increasing responsibility
    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
    • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
    • Strong exposure to lean six sigma preferred
