Area Process Manager - Shipping

Salary Range ($101,000-$134,600) - Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills, and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP's short-term incentive plan.
This position reports to the Office of the Customer/Quality Manager in Valliant, Oklahoma. Valliant is a 5,000+ ton per day containerboard mill with 3 paper machines, 3 continuous digesters, 3 secondary fiber plants and a utilities/chemical recovery complex. It currently operates with 400+ mill employees and 150 contract maintenance employees in a results-oriented environment.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
Responsible for the operations, maintenance coordination and management of the Shipping Department
Champions safety efforts resulting in superior performance by modeling and maintaining an environment of safe work practices and proactive approach to safety management
Provides leadership and resources to support engagement and a high-performance work team
Understands Customer Satisfaction and committed to products which consistently meet the specifications
Takes initiative to proactively deal with issues both with the team and cross-functionally, ensuring communication flows to and from team
Leads team in goal setting and performance management consistent with company and mill direction
Sets clear expectations and holds employees accountable for meeting them
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrated leadership skills combined with technical knowledge and operations experience paper manufacturing processes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to coach, educate and motivate
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in pulp and paper at a manager level
Proven leadership ability in guiding a customer-focused organization to meet its business objectives
Active participation in safety, labor relations, problem solving and other committee/team activities
