We Own It!Responsibilities Leads the management of the company safety program within a business unit or region. Oversees the education and training of Austin Commercial project staff in federal, state, and local laws, ensuring the compliance of Austin's safety, health, and environmental policies.Responsibilities (continued) Builds working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representativesEnsures compliance with the company's current safety manual, policies and expectations, conducting project safety reviews as neededCreates accurate safety reports and accident investigation documentsProvides, participates, and leads staff in safety training and subcontractor development; possesses strong presentation skillsRepresents company in a positive and professional manner with owner and subcontractorsCreates and facilitates safety training on a variety of subjects that align with particular project schedulesBuilds and maintains relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, architects, etc.)Participates in safety organizations outside of the company and based in assigned regionIncorporates regional strategic planning into safety approachRequirements Associates degree in a safety-related field preferred and/or 10+ years safety experience in the construction industryAuthorized OSHA 500 TrainerCurrent on CPR and First Aid certificationsSWPP knowledgeSafety certification from an accredited organization, such as BCSP or an equal alternativeAdvanced knowledge of construction processes and procedures preferredProficient in relevant softwareProven leadership abilities in team-based delivery methodsOutstanding communication and negotiation abilities with key vendors, including company executivesManages time and resource allocation appropriately to provide overall safety leadership to assigned projectsApplicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
