Job Description - Area Sales Manager (Specialty Neuro/Neph)

Position Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for executing sales, market development, and account management strategies within an assigned territory of Phoenix. This role focuses on building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, infusion centers, specialty pharmacies, dialysis centers, and other key stakeholders while driving product adoption and achieving territory performance objectives through disciplined planning and execution.

The ASM serves as a field based commercial leader who represents the organization with professionalism, compliance, and a strong customer focus across complex sites of care, including specialty therapeutic areas such as neurology and nephrology.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Territory Management

• Execute all aspects of sales, market development, and territory business planning

• Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets through effective territory execution

• Analyze sales performance and adjust strategies and business plans accordingly

• Maintain accurate activity documentation and reporting in CRM and internal systems

Account & Relationship Management

• Build and maintain productive, long term relationships with healthcare professionals and account stakeholders

• Engage customers across multiple sites of care, including physician offices, hospitals, infusion centers, dialysis centers, and specialty pharmacies

• Apply account based selling principles to manage complex, competitive, and multi stakeholder accounts

• Identify opportunities to expand presence within existing accounts and develop new business

Product, Market & Channel Expertise

• Demonstrate strong disease state and product knowledge, including competitive landscape awareness

• Understand market access, referral pathways, and access considerations relevant to customers

• Communicate clinical and value based messages aligned with approved strategies

• Gather and share market insights related to customer needs, access barriers, and channel dynamics

Cross Functional Collaboration & Compliance

• Collaborate with internal commercial partners to support coordinated execution across accounts

• Support approved educational programs and customer engagement activities

• Ensure all promotional activities comply with company policies, regulations, and SOPs

• Represent a positive and professional image of the organization externally and internally

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, science, or related field

• 5+ years of pharmaceutical, specialty, or rare disease sales experience

• Proven track record of consistent sales performance

• Experience managing complex accounts across multiple sites of care

• Ability to work independently in a field based role

• Willingness to travel, including overnight travel

Preferred

• Experience in specialty, biologic, or rare disease markets

• Prior experience calling on neurology and/or nephrology accounts

• Familiarity with market access, reimbursement, specialty distribution, and buy and bill models

• Experience working with dialysis centers, infusion centers, and specialty pharmacies
