As part of the Arena team, this role will help connect the cowboy community with Christ through various Arena ministry-related activities. The arena maintenance worker is responsible for keeping the arena, grounds, equipment, and livestock areas safe, clean, functional, and ready for use. This position ensures that practices, team ropings, barrel races, church events, and other arena activities operate safely and smoothly while keeping all facilities, grounds, and utility systems of Lone Star Cowboy Church Arena attractive, in excellent condition, and presentable. We are looking for someone who is familiar with and passionate about rodeo or ranching and has experience working with cattle.
Summary of primary responsibilities includes:
Arena & Ground Care
Footing & Grooming: Operate tractors and drags to maintain safe, consistent dirt conditions for riding, roping, and racing.
Dust Control: Water arena grounds routinely to ensure optimal footing and dust management.
Livestock Areas: Keep roping boxes, stripping chutes, return alleys, warm-up pens, gates, and fencing in top condition.
Heavy Equipment & Tool Management
Equipment Operation: Operate tractors, skid steers, water trucks, arena drags, and heavy vehicles safely.
Routine Checks: Perform daily checks (fluids, oil, tires, hydraulics) and keep equipment clean, stored, and maintained.
Tool Inventory: Maintain organized records and storage for tools, vehicles, and arena maintenance gear.
Facility & Grounds Upkeep
Clean & Orderly Grounds: Keep barns, alleys, pens, and spectator areas clean before and after events.
Pasture Maintenance: Mow, spray, control weeds in pens, and trim trees around pastures and arena boundaries.
Setup & Teardown: Prepare pens, chutes, barriers, signs, and equipment for team ropings, barrel races, rodeos, clinics, and church events.
Live Event Support: Assist during arena events and other church ministry activities, including setup and tear down for Bible studies, outreach events, and other church activities (e.g., HPYF, RBC, church services, barn dance, facility rentals).
Other Duties: Assist the Facilities and Grounds team as needed with other grounds and building maintenance and support requests to facilitate church services and operations.

Requirements
High School diploma or GED required.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs without restrictions.
Must have experience maintaining and operating heavy equipment.
Desire at least 2 years of ranch or rodeo experience.
