Armed Security Guard-$15.50 SEC

General Duties:

1. Protect assigned areas
2. Complete required paperwork
3. Conduct patrols of assigned areas

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Valid driver's license
3. Ability to pass extensive background check, including criminal history check, employment and education verification, and meet requirements for access to sensitive information
4. Pass all site security requirements including advanced handgun training, use of force and use of intermediate weapons training
5. Pass the following post-offer/pre-employment testing in accordance with assigned site requirements/regulations:
6. Work extended hours
7. Work alone while armed
8. Work and perform under stress
9. Work in adverse weather
10. Provide armed escorts
11. Stop, question and detain individuals
12. Respond to emergencies with unplanned strenuous physical activity
13. Climb stairs in an emergency
14. Sit or stand alone for at least two hours
15. Use site issued handgun with dominant and non-dominant hand
16. Use handcuffs
17. Use OC spray
18. Ability to function in emergencies and unusual environments.
19. The examinee shall demonstrate stability and capacity for the following:
20. Mental alertness and emotional stability
21. Acuity of senses; ability of expression to allow rapid, accurate communication by spoken, written, audible, visible, or tactile signals
22. Physique, stamina, motor power, range of motion, and dexterity to allow safe execution of duties.
23. Distant visual acuity in both eyes shall be correctable to 20/25
24. Distant visual acuity in each eye shall be correctable to 20/30
25. Near visual acuity in both eyes shall be correctable to 20/30
26. Near visual acuity in each eye shall be correctable to 20/35
27. The use of corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses shall not interfere with an individual's ability to effectively perform assigned security duties during normal or emergency operations
28. Peripheral visual fields 120 or greater
29. Color vision adequate to distinguish among red, green, and orange-yellow signal lamps and any other coding required for safe operation. No hearing loss in the better ear greater than 30 decibels average for speech frequencies 500, 1000, 2000 Hz in better ear.
30. Hearing aids are acceptable provided suitable testing procedures demonstrate auditory acuity equivalent to the above stated requirement of the facility
31. No use of medications that while the individual is working, that would incapacitate, alter mental status, judgment or decrease physical or mental response times (e.g., anxiety relief via sedatives, narcotic pain medications, etc.).
32. Individuals with medical conditions which may impact the ability to perform the essential functions of the job shall provide medical evidence that the condition is controlled with proper medication and/or treatment and/or reasonable accommodations. The site physician may require the candidate to obtain a letter of clearance from his/her personal physician attesting that the candidate can perform the essential elements of the job.
33. Security personnel are required to meet site fitness for duty program standards, including pre-employment testing, post accident/incident testing, reasonable suspicion or aberrant behavior testing (includes breathalyzer and drug screening)
