SCOPE: Armed Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site's building, grounds, assets, employees and visitors against criminal activity. Armed Security Officers at this location will work on a team to control access at the entry/exit points of a local military headquarters and will serve as a point of contact to all visitors and patrons. SCHEDULE:
- 0640-1910 (1st shift 6:40 a.m. - 7:10 p.m.) or 1840-0710hrs (2nd Shift 6:40 p.m. to 7:10 a.m.)
- ACA Full Time (30-39hrs/week)
- Part-Time (24 - 36+ hours / week) with opportunities for overtime. Open availability 7 days a week preferred for this location.
COMPENSATION:
- Rate of Pay: $21.50 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must provide exceptional customer service.
- Guard posts at the entry / exit points of the local military base.
- Conduct foot & vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
- Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
- Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities
- Must follow site specific post guidelines.
- Document daily activities and report all incidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Must have a current, valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
May NOT have any felony convictions, and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
Must have impeccable grooming (i.e. ability to adhere to our Appearance and Grooming policy).
Must present a friendly, positive, professional image.
Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. These include the ability to read and write the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.
