JROTC - Army JROTC Instructor

The duties include but are not limited to:

• Prepares and presents instruction to the cadets enrolled in JROTC. • Conducts the JROTC program in accordance with laws, regulations, and policies as established by the U.S. Army and local district. • Maintains good relations with the school authorities, faculty, and student body. • Advises the SAI on improvements within the unit. • Supervises extra-curricular activities. • Attends Army JROTC summer camp with cadets from his/her school.

JROTC instructors will wear the currently approved uniform with authorized insignia and rank at all times while performing JROTC duties and training and at other appropriate times. Approved uniforms are the standard for the classroom and campus and will be the uniform worn the majority of the school year. Performs any other duties assigned by his/her Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a citizen of the United States. • Must have retired from the active Army within the last five years with at least twenty years of honorable service. • Must be certified by the US Army to teach the Army JROTC program. • Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma. • Must possess an AA degree within five years of hire date. • Must have a rank of Sergeant First Class, Master Sergeant First Sergeant, Sergeant Major, or Command Sergeant Major, or Warrant Officer. • Some college background is preferred.

Duty Days: 222 Salary Range: From $X to $Y Based on contractual agreement between the Army and the Mobile County Public School System.

Additional Job Information

Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABIFBI criminal history background check, fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department, and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
