Offer Peace, Comfort, and Calm Through the Healing Power of Scent
Are you a certified aromatherapist or essential oils practitioner with a heart for providing holistic care? Join our hospice team as an Aromatherapist Volunteer and help bring comfort, relaxation, and emotional ease to patients and families through the gentle use of therapeutic essential oils.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide aromatherapy support at the bedside for hospice patients in homes, inpatient centers, or care facilities
- Use safe, hospice-appropriate essential oil applications such as diffusion, aromasticks, or light topical blends
- Help reduce anxiety, nausea, discomfort, and emotional distress using individualized essential oil blends
- Support relaxation, calm, and peaceful presence for both patients and family members
- Collaborate with hospice staff to select appropriate oils and techniques, ensuring safety and patient preferences
- Maintain aromatherapy supplies, safety practices, and proper documentation as required
What You’ll Need:
Certification or training in aromatherapy or essential oil therapy Compassionate, calming, and professional presence Knowledge of essential oil safety and contraindications, especially for medically fragile individuals Comfort working with individuals at the end of life and their familiesWhy Volunteer with Us?
