Arrythmia Device Coordinator

Contract, 20 hours per week, Tuesday and Wednesday 7am – 530pm
Position Summary - The Arrhythmia Device Coordinator is responsible for managing and monitoring cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) for patients within the cardiology device clinic. This role performs both in-office and remote device checks for pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and loop recorders. The coordinator ensures accurate device functionality, reviews transmitted data, manages alerts, and collaborates with cardiologists and clinical staff to support patient care and compliance with Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform 20–30 in-office cardiac device interrogations daily for pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders.
- Monitor and review up to 50 remote device transmissions per day using manufacturer monitoring systems.
- Analyze device data and identify abnormalities, alerts, or required follow-up.
- Communicate findings and clinical concerns with physicians and care teams.
- Coordinate patient outreach for abnormal readings, alerts, or device-related follow-up.
- Respond to clinical calls related to cardiac device monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Document device checks and patient interactions accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) standards and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and device representatives to support patient care and clinic workflow.
- Maintain proficiency with device programmer equipment and remote monitoring platforms.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with cardiac implantable devices.
- Experience performing device interrogations and remote monitoring reviews.
- Familiarity with Medtronic, Care link Express and Boston Scientific device programmers.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting real-time device data.
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
Preferred
- Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) or similar certification.
- Experience working in a cardiology device clinic.
- Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia management and device therapy.
