SUMMARY
The Part-Time Art Specialist creates and facilitates engaging, approachable art experiences that support Miraval's philosophy of mindfulness and invite guests to explore creativity, self-expression, curiosity, and connection. This on-property role develops and teaches art programming across a variety of media; leads scheduled classes, private and group experiences, and special programming; collaborates with other artists and Miraval colleagues; and provides flexible coverage across the art program as needed. The Art Specialist brings artistic skill, authenticity, warmth, professionalism, and a guest-centered approach to every experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work confidently across a variety of artistic media and techniques and be willing to learn, expand, and adapt skills as programming evolves.
- Provide clear demonstrations and step-by-step instruction while allowing room for individual expression; adapt teaching style, pacing, and support to the needs of each guest or group.
- Collaborate with fellow artists, Programs colleagues, and other Miraval providers to develop new experiences, enhance existing offerings, share ideas and techniques, and support a cohesive guest experience.
- Provide coverage for other art classes and programs as needed, including learning established curriculum and techniques outside the colleague's primary areas of expertise.
- Support private sessions, semi-private experiences, groups, special events, seasonal offerings, immersions, and other Programs initiatives as assigned.
- Prepare teaching spaces and materials before each experience; maintain organized, attractive, clean, and guest-ready art spaces; and complete timely reset and cleanup after programming.
- Monitor supplies and materials, communicate inventory needs, use resources responsibly, and help maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all established safety practices for tools, materials, equipment, and studio use, and provide guests with appropriate safety guidance during instruction.
- Demonstrate dependable attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and clear communication; remain responsive to schedule adjustments and business needs, including coverage when reasonably requested.
- Participate in required meetings, training, program development, rehearsals, and feedback processes, and remain open to coaching and continuous improvement.
- Represent Miraval with authenticity and professionalism in all guest and colleague interactions and perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned.
