Bristol School District #1 is a 4K-8 one-building school district. We are looking for a motivated, creative teacher to fill a part-time Art Teaching position (0.5 FTE) for grades K-3.
Under the supervision of the Principal, the teacher will:
- Collaborates and integrates with faculty across disciplines to build meaningful curricular connections.
- Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities.
- Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment.
- Keep the classroom organized, including common areas, storage areas, and controlled use of materials, equipment, and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection.
- Evaluate each student's performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports.
- Plan classes and appropriate assignments according to course requirements.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration.
- Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students' work for the school and the community.
- Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records.
- Explain various elements of art.
- Introduce techniques and procedures for painting, sketching, designing, and sculpting.
- Impart knowledge on the history of art, illustration, and commercial art through lectures and audio-video aids.
- Encourage students to develop personal styles and express themselves through the medium of art.
- Evaluate assignments - make observations and offer constructive criticism.
- Foster an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of pupils.
- Grade and maintain records of student performance.
- Must be highly innovative and creative in approach and prioritize process over product in the creation of truly integrated curricular experiences.
- Execute effective classroom management.
Interested candidates must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities that include but are not limited to:
- Must be Wisconsin DPI certified as an art teacher for 4K-8.
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years of education experience required.
- Google Workspace for Education experience required.
- Student Information System (SIS) such as Skyward experience required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, crawl, or sit for prolonged periods with or without back support.
- Must be able to maintain concentration and focus on tasks.
- Must be able to follow safety practices at all times.
- Occasionally move or lift packages or boxes up to 25 pounds.
- May require the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly.
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound. • Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data.

- Hold License: Art (0550)
Applicants with strong skills and experience in the area of PBIS and Google are preferred.
The contract will be a district standard one-year 188-day teacher contract
