The Middle School Art Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging standards based visual arts instruction that fosters creativity self-expression and artistic skill development in students.

The teacher creates a positive inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration of various art forms while supporting students academic and social-emotional growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state and district visual arts standards. • Teach a variety of artistic techniques, media, and art history appropriate for middle school students. • Foster creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation for the arts. • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all learners. • Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, portfolios, and formative assessments. • Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom and studio environment. • Integrate cross-curricular connections where appropriate. • Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school and district policies. • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress. • Organize and display student artwork in classrooms, school exhibits, or community events. • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance instructional practices. • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.
