INTERNAL POSTING Katonah -Lewisboro School District Announces the Following Vaca ncy For the 202 6-2027 School Year Art Teacher John Jay Middle School KLSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the probationary position of Art Teacher at John Jay Middle School beginning September 1, 2026. Location: John Jay Middle School Hours : Full-time (10 month) Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 202 6 Salary : $64,276 - $152,199 as per the KLDTA contract Qualifications : Possess a current NYS K -12 Art Certification Responsibilities: • Teach es knowledge and skills in many aspects of art - creating and art history. • Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well -being of students and nurtures a sense of belonging. • Familiar with i -Movie, Photoshop and other technology -driven art programs. • Ability and willingness to connect and collaborate effectively with teachers of other subjects to identify the connections art has to a wide variety of disciplines. • Knowledge of the design process and its application. • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Actively participate s in a professional learning community (PLC), engaging in ongoing, collaborative professional learning to refine and enhance instructional practice. • Works with colleagues to analyze student needs, share best practices, and implement research -based strategies that improve student outcomes.
