AIS Infrastructure Group is comprised of four heavy civil construction companies delivering infrastructure improvement, site development, and industrial construction services across the United States. We support government agencies and private clients on projects including highways, bridges, DOT work, power plants, dams, reservoirs, and underground utilities.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Articulated Dump Truck Operator is responsible for safely transporting dirt, rock, and materials across construction sites using off-road articulated haul trucks. This role requires a strong focus on safety, equipment operation, and coordination with field crews to support efficient project execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate articulated haul trucks to transport materials safely across job sites
- Perform pre-shift inspections (tires, lights, brakes, fluid levels, etc.) to ensure safe operation
- Complete daily inspection reports and report maintenance needs promptly
- Safely load, haul, and dump materials while maintaining control of equipment at all times
- Coordinate with crew members using hand signals or radio communication
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and identify repair needs
- Maintain accurate logs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Follow and promote all company and site-specific safety policies
- Work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed
- Support additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for access to secured job sites (including military bases)
- Proven ability to safely operate articulated haul trucks in a construction environment
- Strong understanding of safety standards, transportation regulations, and job site protocols
- Ability to read and follow directions, maps, and GPS systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- High attention to detail and situational awareness
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic math skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to problem-solve in structured, fast-paced environments
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Outdoor construction setting with exposure to varying weather conditions
- Physically active role requiring coordination, focus, and extended equipment operation
- May involve exposure to typical construction site hazards
