ROLE OVERVIEW
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, with frequent Saturday work. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary of components that make up the job:
• Perform daily equipment walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained. • Move hand and foot controls safely to properly operate articulated dump truck to transport and dump loose materials. • Be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary. • Perform other duties including labor-intensive tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum educational experience or other relevant job requirements:
• Safety first attitude required • Previous experience operating 35-ton 735 Cat Articulated truck • A Valid drivers license in good standing • Ability to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug screen
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Types and extent of knowledge, skills, or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily:
• Basic knowledge of plant operation, conveyor systems, and maintenance • Must have good mechanical troubleshooting and communication skills • Need positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions • Equipment operation skills helpful
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Extensive walking on uneven surfaces. Lift and carry up to 100 pounds. Exposure to dust fumes, odors. Hand-eye coordination. Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids. Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting. Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting. Working in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.
