Job Summary

OSA seeks a passionate and accomplished Artist Teacher - Instrumental Music (Percussion) to join our Instrumental Music Department for the 2026-2027 school year. The Percussion Artist Teacher provides high-quality instruction in percussion technique, musicianship, ensemble performance, and artistic expression for middle and high school students. This role supports students in developing technical proficiency, creativity, collaboration skills, and a deeper understanding of percussion across diverse musical traditions. The ideal candidate is an experienced musician and educator who inspires students at all levels through rigorous music instruction, culturally responsive teaching, and meaningful performance opportunities. The candidate should have immense patience and experience teaching percussion and drums to students, including beginner-level students. This includes reinforcing basic notation, basic theory elements, and musicianship. The candidate should also have experience in classroom management.
