    Description

    Principal Responsibilities:

    If you're curious, organized, and passionate about arts and community stories, and would like to build a new journalistic & marketing initiative from the ground up, we'd love to meet you!

    This is an exciting, hands-on role for a creative, local college student majoring in Marketing, Journalism, Arts Administration, English, or Communications/Film/Media Studies. The position is 10-20 hours/week, and the ideal candidate will commit to at least one year. They will:
    • Collaborate with the Arts & Culture Director to produce a vibrant new monthly Arts & Culture e-newsletter highlighting the JCC's and Greater Hartford cultural events, opportunities, and profiles on local Jewish artists or art addressing issues relevant to the Jewish community.
    • Expand the Mandell JCC marketing department's social media presence, specifically with our developing Arts & Culture division.

      Compensation for thisinternship (paid or for academic credit) will be determined in consultationwith the selected candidate and, if applicable, their academic institution. Includes Individual JCC Membership.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Current local college student pursuing a major in Marketing, Journalism, Arts Administration, Film, English, Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply!
      • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to tell compelling stories about arts and culture
      • Demonstrated experience with social media management and content creation
      • Proficiency with Canva or similar graphic design tools; basic familiarity with Mailchimp or other email platforms is a plus
      • Comfortable working across multiple projects and meeting deadlines
      • Knowledge of the Greater Hartford arts scene and/or the Jewish community is a plus
      Salary:

      Under $25,000
