Artwork Coordinator & Handler

We're seeking an Artwork Coordinator & Handler to manage the physical handling, logistics, and coordination of artwork across our gallery, warehouse, and exhibition operations. This role combines hands-on art handling with systems-based coordination, requiring someone equally comfortable inspecting and packing a delicate work and maintaining accurate inventory across digital platforms. The ideal candidate brings a genuine knowledge of and passion for contemporary art alongside strong operational discipline and attention to detail and desire to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Handle, pack, unpack, install, and transport artwork with the utmost care, following professional art handling best practices
• \n
• Color correcting and photo editing
• \n
• Perform quality control and condition checks on incoming and outgoing artwork, documenting any issues and flagging discrepancies
• \n
• Keep the inventory management system synchronized with the Shopify website, ensuring product availability, statuses, and details are consistent across platforms
• \n
• Coordinate on launch planning with artists
• \n
• Communicate professionally with external vendors, including framers, shippers, fabricators, and freight partners
• \n
• Assist with the setup, installation, and breakdown of exhibitions and pop-ups
• \n
• Provide on-site support during exhibitions and exhibition events/parties
• \n
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe handling and storage environment
• \n

Required Qualifications\n

• \n
• Demonstrated professional art handling experience
• \n
• Strong knowledge of artwork, materials, and proper handling and care standards
• \n
• Experience performing quality control and condition reporting
• \n
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Calendar)
• \n
• Proficiency with Photoshop and Photo Editing
• \n
• Experience with Shopify and Asana (or comparable e-commerce and project management platforms)
• \n
• Experience with inventory management systems and maintaining data accuracy across platforms
• \n
• Warehouse or logistics experience
• \n
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in coordinating with external vendors and cross-functional teams
• \n
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• \n

Preferred Qualifications\n

• Past curatorial experience
• \n
• Familiarity with AI project management and analytics processes and/or desire to learn
• \n
• Familiarity with contemporary art (open to candidates building their knowledge in this area)

Additional Requirements\n

• Available to travel a few times per year

• Available to assist with exhibitions and exhibition events, which may include evening or weekend hours
