Purpose: The Front Desk Clerk is responsible for greeting visitors, answering phones, keeping the building secure, and providing administrative support for site staff. |
This Position Will Be at our Upper Post location. Schedule to Include Midnight to 8am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Nights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Resident and Guest Interaction
- Greet residents, guests, and service providers warmly and professionally.
- Monitor and log visitor access in accordance with building policies.
- Provide basic resource information and assistance to residents as needed.
- Safety and Security
- Monitor building entrances and surveillance systems.
- Conduct regular walk-throughs of the property to ensure safety.
- Respond to emergencies by contacting appropriate services and following protocols
- Administrative Duties
- Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls.
- Maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
- Write shift reports and communicate with incoming staff.
- Policy Enforcement
- Enforce house rules, visitor policies, and quiet hours.
- Report violations or concerning behavior to property management and supportive housing coordinators.
- Supportive Environment
- Use a trauma-informed and harm-reduction approach in interactions.
- Assist in creating a respectful, inclusive, and stable community.
- Collaborate with property management and service teams to support housing retention
- Facility Oversight
- Communicate maintenance requests or cleaning needs related to common areas within the building to property management.
- Report any hazards or facility issues promptly to property management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in residential, hospitality, or social service settings preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, which include people of various ages, gender, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels, religious affiliations, races, and languages.
- De-escalation and negotiating techniques.
- Be Certified in CPR and First Aid or have the ability to become Certified within 90 days of starting position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to file documents.
- Ability to enter data into a computer.
- Ability to interact verbally with internal and external audiences.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
