Join a well-established precision manufacturing partner to the aerospace industry as a hands-on Quality Engineer focused on dimensional metrology and process control. You will be the go-to resource for CMM programming and measurement strategy, driving data-informed improvements that reduce variation, elevate product quality, and prevent repeat nonconformances. This is a floor-facing role—expect to spend significant time at the machines collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, Inspection, and Quality leadership.
What you will accomplish
Own and improve CMM programming, troubleshooting, and inspection methodologies; elevate measurement system capability.
Mine CMM and inspection data to spot trends, variation, and signals of emerging manufacturing issues.
Build and refine Control Plans, inspection plans, PFMEAs, and other process-control documentation.
Use SPC, capability analysis, and statistical tools to stabilize processes and boost performance.
Partner directly with Manufacturing and Engineering to eliminate quality issues at the source.
Lead investigations for internal and customer nonconformances (NCR/NCM, MRB), including containment and disposition.
Apply structured problem solving (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) to get to true root cause and sustain corrective actions.
Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions that reduce scrap, rework, defects, and customer escapes.
Maintain compliance with AS9100D, AS13100, customer requirements, and the company’s Quality Management System.
What you bring
7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
Background in aerospace, precision machining, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
Proven, hands-on CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience.
Fluency in GD&T and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
Depth with SPC, process capability, root-cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies.
Knowledge of FAI/AS9102 requirements and documentation.
Strong understanding of AS9100 and aerospace quality expectations.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
Why this role matters
Your work ensures flight-critical components meet stringent aerospace standards on every lot, every time. If you thrive where data meets the shop floor—and where rigorous standards meet practical problem solving—you’ll have an outsized impact here.
