About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Asbestos Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling complex plaintiff‑side asbestos matters involving multiple defendants. This role supports cases from inception through trial and requires strong litigation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high‑volume caseload in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior asbestos or personal injury litigation experience and be comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and outside vendors.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft and prepare litigation documents including complaints, motions, discovery requests and responses, document productions, subpoenas, deposition notices, privilege logs, demand letters, and FOIA requests.Assist with all aspects of discovery, including document review, organization, and production.Coordinate and assist with deposition preparation, including scheduling, exhibit preparation, and affidavits.Maintain regular correspondence with clients, vendors, witnesses, and opposing counsel.Coordinate with trial vendors and courts and assist with case logistics.Manage and maintain electronic case files and litigation databases.Request, review, and organize medical, billing, and employment records.Electronically file documents in Illinois state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and procedures.Assist attorneys with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, evidence, and trial binders; attend trial as needed.Perform administrative litigation support tasks including calendaring deadlines, drafting correspondence, and organizing case files.Participate in bi‑weekly case meetings with litigation attorneys to discuss case status, deadlines, and upcoming tasks.Attend weekly asbestos litigation motion calls.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree, ABA paralegal certification, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Minimum of 1‑2 years of litigation paralegal experience; asbestos litigation experience strongly preferred.Prior experience in personal injury litigation required.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Odyssey e‑filing and/or File & Serve Illinois.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Comfortable using and learning legal technology platforms and litigation databases.Experience with Salesforce preferred but not required.Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures.Familiarity with court websites, docket searching, and document retrieval systems.Excellent organizational, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.California residents:Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.Benefits Information: Beacon Hill offers a robust benefit package including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and federal and state leave programs as required by applicable agency regulations to those that meet eligibility.
