Position Summary


SERVPRO of Springfield/Mt. Vernon is seeking a highly organized and compliance-focused Asbestos Project Coordinator to manage the administrative and regulatory aspects of our asbestos abatement projects.


This is an office-based role responsible for ensuring all required documentation, notifications, permits, and compliance records are completed accurately and in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate has prior experience handling asbestos project documentation and understands the regulatory requirements governing abatement projects.


This position does not require field work.


Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare and submit asbestos project notifications in accordance with EPA, OSHA, NESHAP, and state requirements

  • Maintain compliance documentation for all asbestos abatement projects

  • Coordinate required permits, filings, and regulatory communications

  • Track project timelines to ensure all required notices and deadlines are met

  • Maintain organized digital and physical project files

  • Coordinate air monitoring scheduling and third-party inspections

  • Ensure proper waste shipment records (WSRs) and disposal documentation are completed and retained

  • Track employee certifications and license expirations

  • Assist with compliance audits and regulatory inquiries

  • Support Project Managers with administrative documentation and closeout packages

Required Qualifications


  • Previous experience managing documentation for asbestos abatement projects

  • Working knowledge of federal and state asbestos regulations

  • Strong understanding of compliance and recordkeeping requirements

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred (Not Required)


  • Asbestos Certification (Inspector, Supervisor, or AHERA)

  • Experience in restoration, environmental services, or construction administration

  • Familiarity with Xactimate
