SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Building TBD

  • ASD Pre-School/Kindergarten Teacher (ZS) or (ZA) AND ASD certification
  • Grant Funded

And any positions that result from the filling of this posting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification
  • Appropriate Special Education Endorsement and ZA (early childhood) OR (ZS) certification AND Autism Spectrum Disorder SV
  • Experience with Special Education population required
  • Center based experience preferred
  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred
  • Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers

Other requirements as determined by the Lincoln Park Board of Education

DUTIES:

  • Assessing, teaching, and modifying instruction and curricula for students
  • Adapting, accommodating, and modifying the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students
  • Aligning and adapting the student's program with the general education curriculum
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized behavior management strategies and plans. Must prepare and implement behavior plans.
  • Using a range of curriculum guides to assist with identifying functional goals.
  • Employing current assessment instruments and approaches, intervention methodologies, strategies, and techniques that are appropriate
  • Ability to complete records in a timely manner
  • Responsible for case management of MET, IEP, and other compliance requirements
  • Possess skills to communicate to all members of the school & community
  • Be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
  • Philosophy in accord with Lincoln Park Public Schools
  • Able to work cooperatively
  • Ability to follow requirements of supervisors
  • Classroom instruction and instructional leader for meeting the needs of students
  • Other duties as required by Executive Director of Special Services
