ASD Resource Program Teacher

Location:

Simpson Middle School

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV) endorsement, enrolled in approved program, or willing to obtain this certification.
• Understanding of ASD and Universal Design for Learning
• Understanding of Positive Behavior Supports
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work closely with other IEP team members to support student progress.
• Deliver instruction, maintain classroom environment, prepare and plan for the needs of students and demonstrate professional responsibilities.
• Maintain student records, lesson plans, attendance, performance and progress.
• Work with the IEP team to develop individualized behavior intervention plans.
• Implement and collect data on academic and behavioral interventions to support student success both in their general education class and within the ASD Resource Program.
• Provide direction and support to assigned paraprofessionals.
• Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and Special Education Supervisor
