Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English
- Previous experience interpreting within schools, educational programs, or similar environments preferred
- A professional approach to maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical interpretation standards
- Ability to provide a recent resume and documentation of licensure upon request
Primary Responsibilities:- Translate spoken English to ASL and ASL to English in K-12 school environments
- Facilitate group or one-on-one conversations between D/HH students and hearing individuals
- Support educational access during classroom activities and school events
- Adapt communication style to serve each student's needs, collaborating closely with educators and staff
- Maintain accurate and impartial communication as required in educational settings
