Seeking Part-Time and Full-Time ASL Interpreters in Washington, DC for technical and federal settings.
Responsibilities include providing accurate simultaneous ASL-English interpretation, adhering to RID Code of Conduct, mentoring peers, quickly mastering client-specific vocabulary, and supporting NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard, with occasional travel to nearby sites.
Requirements: minimum of 7+ years' specialized interpreting experience in federal environments, staff or designated roles, and 5+ years in technical interpretation. Candidates must have strong ASL-to-English skills, solve complex ethical issues, be US Citizens with Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred: relevant degrees, familiarity with Signing Exact English (SEE), and 7+ years interpreting STEM content in DoD settings.
