ASME Pressure Pipe Welder — X‑Ray Quality (TIG/Stick)

Can you deliver x‑ray quality welds in 6G—every time?

If your answer is yes, you might be the pressure pipe welder we’re looking for. You’ll tackle a mix of materials—carbon steel, stainless, and exotic metals—on pipe from 1/2” to 24”, spanning schedules 10 through 160. You’ll move confidently between GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick), read ISOs and P&IDs with ease, and weld in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.

Your Core Accountabilities

• Produce x‑ray quality welds in the shop and field under supervisory guidance and per spec.
• Read and apply welding symbols; choose processes appropriate to each piping system.
• Assist with mechanical execution: install piping, valves, supports, and related hardware.
• Perform system testing and complete items per drawings and specifications.
• Prep workpieces: clamp, hold, tack, grind, and bolt to achieve exact fit‑up.
• Identify your work via stamping, paint, or labels per welder ID requirements.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated GTAW/SMAW proficiency on pressure piping across multiple materials.
• Comfort with ISOs and P&IDs to validate routing, fit‑up, and details.
• Experience operating pipe threaders, burning torches, grinders, porta‑band machines, chain falls, and hand tools; plus fork trucks and high‑reach equipment.

Physical & Background

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, perform repetitive motions, and precisely handle tools following set procedures.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3–7 years in pipe welding.
