Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Asphalt Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation, application, and finishing of asphalt surfaces on various construction projects. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the setup and maintenance of traffic control and safety devices.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare work sites by removing trash and ensuring surfaces are clean and ready for asphalt application.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in asphalt work.
• Assist with the application of asphalt, including spreading, leveling, and compacting using rakes, shovels, and other tools.
• Learn and retain knowledge for skills performed during asphalt processes.
• Perform routine maintenance on asphalt machinery and equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with the construction team to meet project deadlines and specifications.
• Assist with site cleanup and ensure all tools and equipment are stored properly.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in asphalt paving or related construction work is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of basic construction principles and safety practices.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools commonly used in asphalt work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from various jobsites throughout Baldwin/Mobile counties.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor work environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
• Physical labor includes lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hard hats, and safety vests.
• Potential exposure to hot asphalt and heavy machinery.
