Performing tasks involving physical labor on commercial, patching/paving projects
Clearing the roads, pathways of any dirt and debris
Raking and shovel hot asphalt on roads
Smoothing and surfacing roads and pathways asphalt
Assisting in offloading the truck
Gathering hand tools required for the work
Measuring the paving area
Directing traffic to avoid disturbing the asphalt work
Clearing the area of all equipment and machinery upon work completion
Operate and control paving machines to maintain a constant flow of asphalt and other materials
Ensure all tools are organized and accounted for daily
Installation and application of any other materials including line removal
May operate trucks to transport equipment to and from production sites as required and assist in the maintenance of all equipment
Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures while performing the work
Always conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct
Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines
Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management
Report any accidents/incidents to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Human Resources Manager
Perform or assist with any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned to maintain workflow and meet schedules
High school diploma or equivalency required, and 1-2 years of related; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have a valid driver's license (Class A CDL is a plus)
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Ability to utilize various production tools and equipment
Requires detail orientation and attention
Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
Must be able to work extended hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet deadlines
Hand and powered tools, common cleaning equipment and small engine equipment
This position works under outdoor conditions and exposed to elements including but not limited to, weather, chemicals, odor and environmental conditions. The employee must be able to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time as well as perform tasks that require physical labor including lifting, bending, digging, climb, reach with hands and arms, use muscles to lift, push pull or carry heavy equipment, work in difficult positions and lift up to 60 lbs. The incumbent must be able to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms
