Position Summary:
The Asphalt Paver Operator is responsible for operating asphalt paving machines to place, spread, and level hot asphalt on roads, parking lots, driveways, and other paved surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate asphalt paver to place asphalt at proper width, depth, grade, and slope
- Control paver speed and material flow for uniform mat thickness
- Coordinate with screed operators, rakers, and truck drivers
- Monitor asphalt temperature and material consistency
- Adjust paver and screed controls as needed
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating asphalt paving equipment required
- Knowledge of grades, slopes, and paving techniques
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in hot outdoor conditions
- Reliable attendance and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
- Outdoor construction sites with exposure to heat, fumes, heavy equipment, and traffic.
