Asphalt Paving Foreman

Qualifications:
Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of industry-related experience, with an emphasis on asphalt and paving
Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record required
Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
Experience with heavy equipment operation for all equipment involved in asphalt paving operations: paver, roller, skid-steer, sweeper, dump-truck, etc.
Experienced working with materials/aggregate suppliers for delivering asphalt and stone for stone base, and coordinating with self-perform in house crews paving and fine grading
Expertise in CSA for flatwork related to curbs, gutter, and sidewalk
Knowledgeable with GPS and lasers for ensuring grades and slopes meet or exceed project guidelines on blueprints
Willingness to fill in for any position on the paving crew if needed, and be a mentor to younger foremens or lead paver operators who want to become foreman as well
Ability to work in heat over 100 degrees for several hours in the summer daily
Responsibilities:
Provides direction, training and assistance to an asphalt crew
Tours job sites to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules, to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment
Measures slope and material thickness to verify compliance with contracts and to supervise the job
Communicates daily with Project Manager or Project Superintendent to discuss schedule and production needs
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and crew performance
Maintains time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing
Maintains company policy
Ensures the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with the job
