Asphalt Plant Foreman (Experienced)- Florence, SC

Job Summary

C.R. Jackson is hiring an experienced Asphalt Plant Foreman to support our asphalt plant operations in our Florence Area. In this role, you will help ensure plant operations run safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our teams expect. You'll lead by example while working alongside a supportive team that values safety, accountability, and doing the job right.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee daily asphalt plant operations to ensure safe and efficient production
  • Supervise and coordinate plant personnel to maintain workflow and meet production goals
  • Monitor material quality and production processes to ensure specifications are met
  • Operate plant controls and equipment as needed
  • Perform and oversee routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot operational or mechanical issues and coordinate timely repairs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe plant environment
  • Communicate effectively with crews, drivers, and management to support operations
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in asphalt plant operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or foreman role
  • Strong working knowledge of asphalt plant production, including mix designs, material handling, and quality control processes
  • Proven ability to lead plant personnel, coordinate crews, and manage daily production schedules in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on experience with plant controls, troubleshooting equipment issues, and coordinating maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime
  • Ability to monitor production output and ensure materials consistently meet job specifications and quality standards
  • Experience managing inventory levels for aggregates, liquid asphalt, and other materials to support uninterrupted operations
  • Strong understanding of plant safety practices, environmental compliance, and MSHA/OSHA standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with truck drivers, paving crews, quality control teams, and management
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make real-time decisions to keep operations running efficiently
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications, production schedules, and plant reports
  • Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork in all aspects of the role
  • Willingness to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and adjust schedules based on production demands
  • Valid driver's license required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials when required (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and plant structures safely
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and equipment for safety
