Daily Plant Operations- Oversee and actively participate in daily asphalt plant operations.
- Operate plant controls and equipment to produce asphalt mixes to specification.
- Monitor plant performance and make adjustments to maintain consistent product quality.
- Coordinate daily production based on job site needs and schedules.
- Stay in direct communication with paving crews regarding mix, tonnage, and delivery timing.
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform and assist with routine maintenance and inspections of plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Keep plant, equipment, and work areas clean and in good working condition.
- Report major repair needs and assist with coordinating service when required.
Crew Supervision
- Lead and direct plant crew in daily tasks and assignments.
- Train new employees on plant operations, safety procedures, and equipment use.
- Ensure crew members follow company policies and work safely at all times.
- Step in and work alongside crew as needed to keep production moving.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety rules and company policies on site.
- Identify hazards and take corrective action immediately.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and plant operating permits.
- Conduct basic safety checks and participate in safety meetings.
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of asphalt plant operations experience.
• Knowledge of plant equipment, materials, and maintenance.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Must comply with OSHA and/or MSHA safety regulations.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and travel when required.
• Must wear required PPE in designated work areas.
