Description: Associate Patient Care Coordinator (Centralized Scheduler)– Mount Kisco, NY

    Job Title: Associate Patient Care Coordinator (Centralized Scheduler)

    Location: Mount Kisco, NY

    Contract: 6-month contract with possible extension

    Shift: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM; Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

    Hours per week: 40 hours


    Position Summary:

    • The Centralized Scheduler is responsible for coordinating patient appointments for the Ophthalmology department. 
    • This role supports both phone-based scheduling and in-person patient interactions.
    • The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately via phone and in person
    • Provide patients with clear instructions regarding visit preparation, referrals, and insurance requirements
    • Confirm appointments and manage scheduling work queues
    • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
    • Coordinate provider schedules and optimize appointment templates
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, technicians, and front desk staff
    • Address patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
    • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
    • Assist with coverage and additional administrative tasks as needed

     Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Previous medical scheduling or healthcare experience preferred
    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to multitask and manage high call volumes
    • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Physical Requirements
    • Prolonged sitting and phone use
    • Frequent interaction with patients and staff
