Job Description

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  1. Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints.
  2. Performs visual inspection of parts prior to assembly.
  3. Identifies any quality issues and notifies appropriate personnel.
  4. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
  5. Identifies and resolves assembly related problems.
  6. Selects and maintains the necessary tools required for assembly.
  7. Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
  8. Operates drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
