Position Summary
The Assembler 2, Instrument performs electro-mechanical assembly of flow cytometers, sub-assemblies, and medical device products. The role involves assembling optical, mechanical, fluidic, and electronic components while following established procedures and maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform instrument assembly according to released procedures and work orders.
Assemble optical, mechanical, fluidic, and electronic components.
Perform in-process inspections to ensure product quality and specifications.
Read and follow assembly instructions, BOMs, SOPs, and work orders.
Complete required documentation and Device History Records (DHR).
Collect and document measurements and production data.
Work with Engineering, QA, Technicians, and Production teams to resolve issues.
Support new product introductions and process improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
Complete timesheets and required documentation accurately.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED.
2+ years of related experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
Experience using hand tools and performing mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly.
Good mechanical aptitude, dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
Basic computer skills and data entry experience.
Ability to read technical instructions, BOMs, SOPs, and work orders.
Ability to reach, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs. daily.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
Medical device manufacturing experience.
Electro-mechanical assembly experience.
Experience with optical, fluidic, electronic, or laser-based systems.
Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Visio.
Knowledge of ISO 9000 and cGMP 21 CFR Part 820.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Typical Day
Assemble instruments and components at an assigned workstation.
Use hand tools and follow work orders and assembly procedures.
Perform inspections and record measurements/data.
Complete production documentation.
Communicate with technicians, engineers, QA, and production teams.
