DPP is seeking an Assembler 2 for an opportunity with our client in the Defense & Space Manufacturing industry.
 
Work location: Onsite in Madison, AL
Work shift: Mon-Thurs 6:00AM-4:30PM
Duration: 3 months
Terms: W2 position
Work authorization: US Citizen
 
Responsibilities:

  • The Assembler will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions. 
Basic qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of related assembly experience.
  • Experience with soldering (J-Standard certification preferred), surface mount (SMT) packages, or wire harness construction.
  • Ability to work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and, or, work instructions.
  • Experience working with microscopes for precision assembly. 
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience assembling and troubleshooting Radio Frequency (RF) and/or Communication, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) systems.
  • Experience in rework and modifying dense SMT (Surface Mount Technology) circuit boards and prototype cables.
  • Proficiency in using microscopes for assembling small mechanical parts.
  • Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) such as SAP, Solumina, or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), FOD (Foreign Object Damage), and ITAR/AS9100 regulations.
