Assembly Technician

Shift
  • Friday Sunday:5:00 AM 5:30 PM; Weekend Day Shift: Eligible for $2.00/hour shift differential and work 36 hours, paid for 40
Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to assemble precision structural components used in the aerospace industry. This role involves assembling parts and subassemblies, interpreting blueprints, using hand and power tools, and ensuring all products meet quality and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble structural components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Install parts, brackets, hinges, bushings, and hardware using hand tools, power tools, presses, and specialized assembly equipment.
  • Drill, rivet, bolt, screw, and fasten components while maintaining precise tolerances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and specifications.
  • Position and align components using jigs, fixtures, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Inspect completed assemblies using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Apply sealants, coatings, or paint as required while following safety procedures.
  • Perform trimming, filing, fitting, and other finishing operations.
  • Identify production issues, recommend improvements, and communicate concerns to supervisors.
  • Meet production standards while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following 5S and workplace safety practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of assembly experience, preferably in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic shop math skills and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, adhesives, sealants, paints, and other industrial materials.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
