Assembler

PGS Worldwide is seeking an assembler in Austin, TX for a temp-to-hire contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this onsite manufacturing position, you will assemble electronic and mechanical components and support production and prototype builds. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and collaboration with engineering and quality teams to ensure high-quality output.

Required Skills
  • High school diploma, trade school, or GED with 4 years of related experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused on tasks
  • Experience working with a microscope
  • Experience assembling small devices, including wiring, soldering, harnessing, and cabling
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications
  • Understanding of electronics fundamentals, including active and passive components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, relays, transformers)
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with production, engineering, and related teams
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ESD, material handling, and solder certifications
  • Ability to use crimping tools and perform mechanical assembly operations
  • Ability to lift and carry objects
Preferred Skills
  • Soldering experience per J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards
  • Experience with through-hole PCB and surface mount soldering
  • Experience with crimping, conformal coating, potting, or encapsulation
  • Ability to operate equipment such as spray guns, air brushes, stencil cutting, and lettering equipment
  • Advanced electronic/mechanical assembly experience
What You'll Do
  • Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, and modules using drawings, schematics, and process instructions
  • Perform wire termination, harness installation, cable assembly, and torqueing operations
  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify production subassemblies following work plans
  • Inspect assemblies for compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Support production and prototype builds for circuit boards, modules, and connector panels
  • Use hand tools and precision testing equipment to inspect and certify assemblies
  • Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Work closely with Quality Control to maintain high standards
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

  • Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
