Defense/Aerospace manufacturer of custom Cable Assemblies, Wire Harness"s and various types of electromechanical products is looking for an Experienced Cable Assembly Operator for its manufacturing department. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision. Candidate must be able to speak and read English and interpret Assembly Drawings, Manufacturing Procedures, Military Specifications, Schematics, and Wire Lists.
Additionally, the potential candidate should be comfortable with and be able to use the following tools: soldering iron, crimping tools, wire strippers, rulers for measuring wire lengths to be cut. Candidates must be able to produce high quality solder & crimp connections for high density connectors. Preferred candidates will be certified in IPC J-STD-001. Positions are Temp to Perm on the first shift (Monday- Friday) at our Denville, NJ location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Read, use, and follow manufacturing procedures, assembly drawings and wire lists to perform required manufacturing assembly operations and processes
* Install cables on specified manufacturing fixtures to perform the required manufacturing processes
* Document operations/processes performed on manufacturing process routers
Possession of a high school diploma or GED and valid authorization to work in the United States.
Proficient in reading and communicating in English to effectively follow manufacturing procedures, wire lists, and mechanical drawings.
Demonstrated experience with standard power and hand tools, such as soldering irons and hand drills, ideally with two or more years in a manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and reliability with a commitment to learning and maintaining high standards in technical documentation and assembly processes.
