• We assemble mechanical water valves consisting of metal castings, shafts, nuts, bolts, collars, O-rings.
• There are no electrical or electronic components, no wiring, etc.
• Most of the assembled valves are 4” diameter – 12” diameter.
• We assemble and test, a smaller number of valves that are 16” – 24” diameter.
• Basic Qualifications:
o High school diploma or equivalent is required
o Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation
o Ability to work up to 5 days per week up to 10 hours per day (4-day 40 hour workweek average)
o Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
o Strong team player with the ability to work independently
o Effective organizational skills and strong attention to detail
o Must be able to: list 50 pounds and walk frequently, stand for extended periods
o Quality-focused workmanship
o Willingness to learn and be taught
• Preferred Qualifications:
o 2 years’ experience in an assembly role
o Fork truck driving experience
o Ability to use computer
• Good oral and written communication skills and ability to follow written and spoken instructions
• Basic analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, read documents, and do basic counting and measurements
• Experience in assembly/manufacturing operations
Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assemble valves for stock and customer orders based on date, priority, and established KPIs
• Document production and inventory usage
• Move product around warehouse in a safe and organized manner using fork trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material movement devices
• Perform quality inspection tasks for assembled products
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment as instructed
• Work with purchasing to optimize inventory accuracy and amounts on-hand
• Help implement various safety, quality, delivery, and cost-savings projects
• Contribute to department continuous improvement culture
• Other tasks as assigned
