The assembler/fabricator will assemble machines, equipment, and their subassemblies and build baseplates, structures or guards following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties.
ADVANCEMENT LEVELS: Junior Assembler, Assembler, Assembler/Fabricator, Senior Assembler/Fabricator, Lead Assembler/Fabricator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reading of blueprints & interpretation of specifications & engineering instructions.
- Plans pump assembly procedures, following specifications, and all associated SOP’s.
- Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
- Fabricates metal to produce high quality structures, baseplates, and coupling guards by sawing, cutting, welding and grinding metal parts.
- Drills, taps, or reams holes. Aligns components, and bolts, screws, or rivets them together.
- Aligns gears, drive couplings & sub-assemblies to close tolerances.
- Mechanical assembly & troubleshooting.
- Competent & knowledgeable in the use of various machine and hand tools.
- Operates overhead crane, fork truck and all other equipment safely and competently.
- Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
- Other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
- In house service of company products
- Prepares and maintains equipment for shows and customer visits.
- Assures the quality of parts and products.
- Complies with corporate policies & OSHA rules relating to equipment
