Is a Chicago-based nonprofit that removes barriers to employment by eliminating biases that disqualify candidates unnecessarily. Working with local and global companies, Skills brings opportunities to neighborhoods and municipalities throughout the Chicagoland area. To be eligible for Skills for Chicago services, candidates must reside in Illinois or Indiana, be authorized to work in the United States, and be either unemployed or underemployed.

Job Highlights

• Reads orders and follows blueprint instructions
• Builds assemblies to specified bill of materials (BOM); ability to use hand tools and power tools to assemble seats
• Obtains parts for assembly by way of blueprint, pick list, and/or order
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Candidate Profile

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently
• Ability to use a computer to access blueprints and CAD drawings
• Must have strong math and measurement skills
• Ability to read English

Freedman Seating determines pay based on several factors, including but not limited to the position being offered, education , skills, work experience, and other factors permitted by law. They may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
