JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position tends to special-purpose loading and unloading materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

Move and/or assist in moving material needed in production machines in an assigned production area.
Assist in the loading and unloading of material in an assigned production area
Transports material from one production area to another by pushing/pulling a cart
Assist in lifting and moving heavy loads as required
Assemble glass packs as required by the production area
Operate equipment to assist in the production process
Assemble materials as required by the production area
Inspect finished product for defects, to ensure that quality standards are met
Ensures work area is maintained in an orderly and safe manner per company procedures.
Other duties may be assigned by the management team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

H.S. diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

Preferred experience in a production setting or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in similar roles in a manufacturing environment. Experience in glass manufacturing desired
Certificates, Licenses

Computer Skills:

Basic PC skills

Mathematical Abilities:

Basic Math--Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.

Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:

Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions
Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning) Effective communication skills written and oral in English and Spanish (preferred)
Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities) Team-oriented individual, flexible, and adaptable to a continuous improvement environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 10 hours/day, to walk up to 10 hours/day and/or sit for up to 30-60 minutes/day, twisting or bending up to 10 hours/day, overhead work up to 10 hours as needed per production area.
Ability to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50 % of the shift.
