JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • This position tends to special-purpose loading and unloading materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Move and/or assist in moving material needed in production machines in an assigned production area.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of material in an assigned production area
  • Transports material from one production area to another by pushing/pulling a cart
  • Assist in lifting and moving heavy loads as required
  • Assemble glass packs as required by the production area
  • Operate equipment to assist in the production process
  • Assemble materials as required by the production area
  • Inspect finished product for defects, to ensure that quality standards are met
  • Ensures work area is maintained in an orderly and safe manner per company procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the management team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • H.S. diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
  • Preferred experience in a production setting or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in similar roles in a manufacturing environment. Experience in glass manufacturing desired
  • Certificates, Licenses
Computer Skills:
  • Basic PC skills
Mathematical Abilities:
  • Basic Math--Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.
Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions
  • Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning) Effective communication skills written and oral in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities) Team-oriented individual, flexible, and adaptable to a continuous improvement environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 10 hours/day, to walk up to 10 hours/day and/or sit for up to 30-60 minutes/day, twisting or bending up to 10 hours/day, overhead work up to 10 hours as needed per production area.
  • Ability to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50 % of the shift.
