Job Summary
The Assembler II is responsible for performing electronic assembly, repair, and testing activities within a manufacturing environment. This role supports both internal and external customers by assembling, soldering, inspecting, and repairing electronic components while adhering to quality, safety, and productivity standards. The Assembler II works collaboratively within a team environment and reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic assembly and repair of surface mount and through-hole components
  • Execute hand soldering and de-soldering activities in accordance with work instructions and quality standards
  • Utilize measuring equipment, test equipment, and hand tools including air drivers, screwdrivers, wrenches, presses, and tooling fixtures
  • Read and interpret schematics, drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements
  • Support a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and operational growth
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing processes
  • Assist in maintaining the compatibility and safety of electrical systems and assemblies

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Torrance, CA
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Basic computer skills, math skills, and ability to read and understand work instructions and drawings
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use color recognition to identify electronic components

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous electronics manufacturing experience
  • Experience with hand soldering and electronic assembly
  • 1–2 years of hand soldering experience
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and manufacturing drawings

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience

  • Prior electronics manufacturing and assembly experience preferred
  • 1–2 years of hand soldering experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, approximately 8 hours per day
  • Continuous use of hands, arms, and shoulders for assembly operations
  • Ability to handle small and intricate components with precision and finger dexterity
  • Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Visual ability to inspect work, read drawings, and identify color-coded components
  • Ability to work in confined workspaces with limited movement in certain areas

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with continuous machine noise during operation
  • Exposure to solder fumes, flux, thinner, and other manufacturing chemicals
  • Indoor facility environment
  • Regular overtime may be required throughout the year
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including safety glasses and ESD smock at all times; protective gloves may be required for specific applications
