Position: Assembler

Location: Londonderry, New Hampshire

Schedule: Full time position. A four-month 9/80 work schedule (a two-workweek schedule consisting of eight 9-hour days, one 8-hour day, and one scheduled day off). Then the schedule transitions to a standard Monday through Friday workweek, with timing adjusted based on business needs.

Assembler Job Summary:

This Assembler is responsible for all aspects of assembly and preparation for shipment of all product lines as well as the electronic documentation of the assembly. In addition, this position is responsible for adhering to all safety rules and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment, while ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including the shop area. This position reports to the Production and Logistics Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Assembly

  • Assemble and disassemble low and high-speed sanitary mixing equipment
  • Use precision measuring equipment to inspect all components for proper fit
  • Install bearings, lip seals, and O-rings
  • Work with mechanical seals
  • Read blueprints
  • Straighten shafts to tolerance
  • Test all equipment prior to shipping
  • Wire electric motors
  • Test for temperature
  • Complete Assembly Test and Inspection Documentation
  • Check all equipment for proper components per the work ticket, Order Detail Sheet, and Final Drawing
  • Rebuild customer equipment per the Work Ticket, Order Detail Sheet, and Final Drawing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Safety

  • Ensure and maintain overall shop area in clean and safe condition
  • Wear protective equipment when required
  • Complete fork truck safety class

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Crating

  • Build crates for shipping equipment
  • Operate radial arm, circular, and panel style saws
  • Operate pneumatic nailers and staplers
  • Properly package and prepare goods for shipment

RMA

  • Perform complete disassembly and inspection of returned customer equipment
  • Complete all Disassembly and Inspection Documentation
  • Complete RMA Inspection Notes within Tab 7 of the Sales Order upon completion of inspection
  • Photograph equipment damage and overall equipment condition to support the Aftermarket Team in the repair quoting process

Laser marking

  • Operate the fiber watt laser to mark equipment according to Work Ticket instructions

Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to all written assembly procedures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with tight tolerance manufacturing
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Computer knowledge
  • Operation of overhead hoists
  • Ability to work in a team environment and perform various functions as directed by the Production and Logistics Manager
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative as needed to accomplish goals
  • Team player with a "can do" attitude, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues and co-workers, with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a supportive diverse team environment

Credentials and Experience

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Experience with large mechanical assemblies preferred
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on factory floor
  • Support and participate in cross-functional projects with department colleagues and other departments
