Assembler

Position Description:

• · Line performing assembly and test of complex electro-mechanical assembly of electronic products and support equipment.
• · Must be able to understand and work from engineering drawings and sketches and be able to follow written and verbal work instructions.
• · Be able and willing to work additional hours when required, including weekends.
• · Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive assembly operations of electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies on ordnance systems
• · Performs a variety of duties assisting team members in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities, troubleshooting and problem solving transitioning new products into production.

Skills Required:

• · Proficient use of electronic test equipment, electrical assembly tools and hand tools. Specific skills include:
• · Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.
• · Precision and fine motor skills required for micro/nano scale fabrication, assembly, test with near zero defects.
• · Must be able to demonstrate high degree of mechanical aptitude and J-STD-001 or have knowledge of these requirements.
• · Conduct tests using electronics test equipment (ie. Scopes, meters, etc) and generate test report data.
• · Must demonstrate ability to read and use mechanical assembly and measurement tools such as micrometers and torque wrenches.

Skills Preferred:

• · Ability to communicate feedback to the team to support design, fabrication and test improvements.
• · Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve assembly issues.
• · Cirris and/or Automated Test Equipment operator experience
• · Troubleshooting of electronic, electrical systems
• · Trained and proficient in manufacturing & quality requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and J-STD-001 or have knowledge of these requirements
• · Understanding of basic machining techniques
• · Basic understanding of GD&T

Experience Required:

· 2-year technical degree or a Minimum of 2 years as a technician performing related tasks, either in a production or prototype environment.
